Synopsis :
The story, which takes place in the fictional medieval empire of Saiunkoku, follows the adventures of Shuurei Kou, a descendant of a noble family that has fallen on hard times.
Shuurei Kou is the daughter of the man who manages the treasury. However, they're not so well off. When the Grand Preceptor offers 500 pieces of gold to pay her, she can't resist taking the job (bringing along with an adopted helper, Seiran). What she's gotten herself into, however, is being the lazy emperor's consort - she has to shape him up within 6 months!
